"B" Litter is Three Weeks Old

The kittens are in the wobbly stage. They are trying out their new legs, but are on shaky ground. :) They are also entering one of the first awkward stages, I think, to take pictures. Not only is it difficult to get them to sit still and look in the direction you want, but their ears are starting to grow slightly and make the move toward the top of the head. As much as I would like to have the same number of pictures of each kitten, they all don't turn out for some reason or another.

Everyone is still growing and still behaving well. Karina is doing a really good job keeping them warm, fed, and happy. Nothing major in development of personalities yet, they are just still enjoying baby life with no worries. :) They are grooming themselves a little, and their strectches are just as sweet as a human baby!! I love having kittens around.

"B" Almost Two Weeks Old

Red Silver Classic Boy

Black Silver Classic Girl

Black Silver Classic Torbie

Black Silver Mackerel Girl

The kittens are all doing well. They still get fussy outside of the box unless we are holding them, so the photo shoots are not easy! They all have their eyes open and crawling around the box. They still like to sleep all cuddled up with each other and momma Karina is doing a great job!

B Litter is One Week Old

Here are pictures of our B litter with Karina. The babies are one week old today and have started to open their eyes. They are also starting to crawl a little more and can get from one side of the box to the other now easily. They are still a bit shaky, but definitely practicing using their little limbs. :) They have been such good babies so far! They do not cry and are gaining weight every day, just like they should. Karina is being a great mother, keeping her babies warm and happy. We have one black silver torbie girl, two black silver girls, and one red silver boy. I know one of the girls is a mackerel, but too early to tell the other patterns for sure. We will post more progress at two weeks old! Enjoy!

Litter B

We have great news. Karina and Leo have four beautiful kittens born January 29, 2010! Still not certain on the patterns, but we do have two black silver girls, one black silver torbie girl, and one red silver boy. There may be three classic patterns and one mackerel, but still too early to tell for certain. I originally thought there were two girls and two boys, but with a closer look, it appears the females win out this litter. :)

I'll take their first pictures at one week old. Right now, all are eating, gained weight their first day, and sleeping a lot. All is well. :)

Caesar and Leo played out in the snow after this past blizzard in Oklahoma. Couldn't resist trying to make them look like the European Siberians that seem to have massive snow all the time. lol

We've worked on the nursery in preparation for Karina's litter. I've provided two different birthing "box" options, as I can't find an actual box large enough. So, we are trying a large laundry basket, and a large storage bin with warm towels for bedding. We will see which she chooses. :)

Pulheria is settled in nicely. We have decided to call her Penny, since she reminds us of the penny color of US currency. It took our girls a week to stop hissing at her, but today, Ali and Penny were taking a nap together under the bed. :) Karina is really not in the mood for any of the cats right now. lol She's just getting big and wants to watch everything going on and eat her birds. :)

Pulheria is here from her long trip. She is a beautiful girl and very affectionate. She doesn't appear to be too shy and has already claimed one of the perches in the living room condo. lol Leo took a nap on the next perch over. Ali is still a bit stand off-ish, but will be fine now that the boys are OK with her. Caesar, our altered male, is the absolute best with new cats and kittens, so we introduced them first. If King Caesar accepts you, the others will follow. :) I think we will call her Penny, as Pulheria is a mouth full on a daily basis.

Karina is doing well and getting very big. She is about three-four weeks away, if we have calculated correctly. We will be getting the nursery ready again this weekend, and start stocking with all the kitten supplies needed. We are also going to redo the stud room. Our plans are to replace carpet with wood floors throughout the whole house and not just the nursery. :)

We hope everyone has had a safe and wonderful holiday! The New Year is just around the corner!

New Addition to the Family and Christmas News

We will be adding Pulheria Sibaris to our family later this month. She is a beautiful black golden mackerel from Sibaris Cattery. We especially would like to thank Arina and Alex for allowing us to adopt this little girl.

Karina seems to be "pinking", so hopes and prayers for beautiful, healthy kittens the end of January. This will be Leo's first litter and Karina's second. Karina turned out to be a really good mother, and seemed to enjoy her babies - all 7 of them. She was very much a natural!

Ali is growing nicely and very playful! She can cuddle up to you one minute then pounce at your feet the next. She's a very quick girl. :)

So far, the small Christmas tree we decided to put up, despite the cats, has survived and has not been knocked down once. A few wabbles here and there, but no full crashes. We decided this year not to put up the large tree, as Leo and Ali and very curious cats. I just had visions of one scaling the tree and having to redecorate every day, not to mention the weight of the tree. It just wasn't worth the hassle. But, the smaller one has worked out nicely. Ali likes to sleep under it, but the others are too big to fit. lol

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
